Grandma’s Recipe – scrumptious chicken pie!
Individual Home-made Chicken Pies.

Enjoy them straight from the oven or freeze them as a handy lunch for those all-too-frequent busy days. Real honest comfort food for the long winter months, you’ll find these a great winner with young and old alike. A pie-maker works great, or they can just as easily be done in an oven. Don’t be afraid to try different fillings and flavours too…this is just a base for all your culinary creativity!
The Recipe
Ingredients:
4 sheets Ready-rolled puff pastry
½ a BBQ Chicken, chopped
Good handful of Bacon pieces
2 Spring Onions, chopped
Chicken Gravy mix
Good dash of Cream
Sweet Chili Sauce
Method:
Make up half a cup of gravy with the gravy mix. Add the bacon, spring onion and cream, adjusting the quantity to your individual preferences.
Cut out rounds of pastry for the top and bottom of the pies. Line a pie-maker or your pie moulds with the base circles.
Divide the filling evenly among the 4 moulds. Swirl sweet chilli sauce on the top of each filling before putting the top circle in place to form the lid of the pie.
Cook in a pie-maker for 11 minutes, or crimp the edges of your pies and cook in a preheated oven at 180c for 30 minutes.
Let the pies stand for 5 minutes before serving.
This recipe makes 4 pies.
P.S. As you might have noticed – we placed a small piece of pastry cut in a love heart on the top of our pies before they went in the pie-maker. You can experiment with all sorts of shapes – maybe even try a personalised letter or symbol.
